Silex 600
Simple, stylish and hugely capable. The perfect combination of a lightweight aluminium frame with multiple fixing points and a full carbon fork, also with added attachment capability. Get ready for your next cycling adventure.

Whether you are looking for a capable gravel bike for your next bikepacking adventure, a super comfortable and confidence-inspiring road bike that doesn't shy away from taking off-road detours, or a stylish commuter that can easily tackle even the most pothole littered roads, the SILEX 600 delivers on all three fronts. Equipped with a single chainring setup from Shimano and powerful hydraulic disc brakes, it is ready for pretty much anything you can throw at it.

There's a certain beauty in just riding without watching the time, heading wherever you feel the urge. For those rides, the test and award-winning SILEX makes total sense; our most comfortable and versatile road bike ever. With its modern MTB inspired geometry, long top and head tubes and short stem, it offers nimble, confidence-inspiring handling. While often seen on extended gravel and rough road outings, as well as bikepacking trips, the SILEX also found a strong following in comfort-orientated road riding connoisseurs as well as commuters and city traffic weavers. The more rugged 650b wheeled alternative to the 700c SILEX has managed to obtain multiple test wins as well as comfort awards, and is coming back in the form of the fully loaded and wirelessly shifted SILEX+ LIMITED. The 'classic' 700c SILEX also impressed the press with the 400 securing a test win in Cycling Plus, being certified as having a 'huge fun factor', 'superb riding position' and 'brilliant off-road handling'.

  • Triple butted aluminium frame and full carbon fork
  • 700c wheel for well balanced off and on-road capability
  • Internal cable routing for a clean and easy to load frame
  • Comfort geometry for long hours in the saddle
  • MTB inspired handling for superior off-road capability
  • Three bottle cage positions and bosses for further luggage capacity on the fork legs

Technologies

Prolite 66 Triple Butted Aluminum
When creating high-end aluminium frames, we use our proven PROLITE 66 (6066) aluminium, as it is incredibly light and durable. In addition, it works exceptionally well with our hydroforming technology, allowing us to create complex shapes, featuring triple butted wall thicknesses, an almost carbon-like appearance and the best possible stiffness-to-weight ratio. While lesser alloys might be cheaper, it is the ideal choice for high-performance bicycle frames.

HFS - Hydro Forming System
‘C-Mount’ equipped bikes have the fixing points for a rear rack already integrated (some bikes require model specific rear rack), making fitting fast, simple and reliable.

Smooth Welding
This is a process we use to give a nice flat finish to our welds instead of the scaled, 'stack of coins' effect TIG welded joints often have. The welder uses the welding torch to go over the joint twice, helping to smooth out the filler material. It takes a lot of skill to do this, but it delivers strong and smart-looking frames that have the appearance of a carbon fibre frame at first look.

X-Taper Headtube
Steering precision is vital to safe and confident handling, and the X-TAPER HEADTUBE allows us to significantly boost this precision. A larger headset diameter at the bottom paired with a smaller one at the top helps to deal with the strains modern riding and equipment can put on the headtube, all without adding unnecessary weight. It allows tapered forks to be fitted with ease and delivers precise and confidence-inspiring steering.

Internal Cable Routing
On the majority of our frames, we run the gear and brake cables and hoses through the frame. The cables enter and exit the frame through smooth sockets, or we use one of our other systems like SMART ENTRY or WIRE PORT to be routed through. Running the cables inside the frame protects them from the elements, gives a clean and neat look and can offer aerodynamic advantages.

Down Tube Exit
Down Tube Exit is a feature seen on some of our frames with internally routed cables. By slightly overlapping the downtube where it connects to the bottom bracket, it leaves a small space that allows cables to exit easily. This means they are easily accessible for routine maintenance or replacement, but it prevents excessive movement and noise that can cause wear and distraction.

F-Mount
Being able to turn your bike into an all-weather commuter that has mudguards and other fittings can be a real plus, in particular when riding on wet and perhaps muddy roads and tracks on a regular basis. To make fitting easy, some of our bikes are F-MOUNT equipped. These integrated fittings mounts make adding mudguards fast and simple. Please note that some bikes require model-specific mudguards.

C-Mount
Similar to our F-Mount, where various fixing points for mudguards are part of the frame offering, the C-Mount equipped bikes have the fixing points for a rear rack already integrated, making fitting fast, simple and reliable. The C-Mounts are an additional feature that improves the day-to-day versatility by adding loading capacity to your bike, ideal for commuting and shopping trips. Please note that some bikes require model-specific rear racks.

Stunning graphics and a relatable hero
Format: Paperback
As Stuart Gibbs is one of my favorite middle grade authors, I was eager to pick up this book. It did not disappoint. Stunning graphics and a relatable protagonist make this an engaging read. Full of references to the world of superheroes, (some sneaky, some overt) there were plenty of opportunities to make inferences and share a snide chuckle with the author. This title is now on the short list for next year’s Battle of the Books in our school district. Kudos to Stuart Gibbs for the message of brain over brawn (and superpowers)!

Bruce Wayne: Not Super | Comic Review
Format: Paperback
I recently had the opportunity to check out Bruce Wayne: Not Super from DC Comics. The story is from Stuart Gibbs and the artwork is from Berat Pekmezci, and it is obviously about Batman. The middle-grade graphic novel follows a teenage Cape Crusader going to school with every other DC character. Heroes and villains all going to school together is a funny concept that I think is pulled off well here. What’s the joke about Batman? He’s just a rich kid with no powers, so what happens when he goes to a prep school with Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Arrow, etc.? Bruce has to come to grip with having no powers and how that affects his daily interactions with his classmates. Bruce’s alienation at being powerless directly conflicts with his goal of being a vigilante hero for Gotham City. His camaraderie with Dick Grayson (Robin) helps him work through his feelings on wanting to be Ferretman Batman. Aging adult characters down to young teens can come with their own difficulties, but I think Pekmezci nailed it. The artwork is very good throughout this book. It may not be everybody’s cup of tea, but I really dig these “Elseworlds” stories that place the heroes in completely weird situations. And, what’s weirder than a middle/high school full of super-powered kids! Clearly, I wasn’t the intended audience for this book, but I think those kids will have a great time reading this.

Fast read but well loved
Format: Paperback
I gave book 1 and 2 to my 9 year old and she read them both in 2 days and informed me when book 3 will be released. She said she liked the story, the characters had interesting names, and the graphics were exceptional.
