Original Item: Only One Available: This is an example of the iconic USMC M1912 Dress Blue uniform with the rare Bell Crown service cap. All buttons are retained and everything is in fantastic condition. This model of tunic and service cap are integral for any USMC or WWI US Collection.

This is a full M1912 U.S. Marine Corps Uniform, including the M1912 dress tunic, dress breeches, and the dress Bell Crown service cap, named to Private John M. Powell, USMC. The tunic and pants are both near mint, in fantastic condition with one discharge chevron on the right sleeve. The pants are stenciled “J.M. POWELL” on the interior. The Bell Crown service cap has a full sweatband, partially ripped but still intact. The cap features a black leather brim, supported by pressed paper or fabric. The red piping trim was added when the 1912 model was patterned. The EGA is affixed to the front and is period correct with both latitude and longitude lines on the globe. The chinstrap is beautifully worn in a way that compliments the entire uniform. The cap has one or two tiny moth nips but is otherwise flawless on the exterior.

John M. Powell enlisted in the Marine Corps on December 12th, 1917, likely hoping to make it to France before the war was over. He was stationed at the Naval Ammunition Depot in New London, Connecticut for most of his time in the service.

The United States Marine Corps
The decades following the War of 1812 saw the Marines protecting American interests around the world, in the Caribbean, at the Falkland Islands, Sumatra and off the coast of West Africa, and also close to home in operations against the Seminole Indians in Florida.

During the Mexican War (1846-1848), Marines seized enemy seaports on both the Gulf and Pacific coasts. A battalion of Marines joined General Winfield Scott's army at Pueblo and fought all the way to the "Halls of Montezuma," Mexico City. Marines also served ashore and afloat in the Civil War (1861-1865). Although most service was with the Navy, a battalion fought at Bull Run and other units saw action with the blockading squadrons and at Cape Hatteras, New Orleans, Charleston, and Fort Fisher. The last third of the 19th century saw Marines making numerous landings throughout the world, especially in the Orient and in the Caribbean area.

Following the Spanish-American War (1898), in which Marines performed with valor in Cuba, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Philippines, the Corps entered an era of expansion and professional development.

It saw active service in the Philippine Insurrection (1899-1902), the Boxer Rebellion in China (1900). and in numerous other nations, including Nicaragua, Panama, Cuba, Mexico, and Haiti.

Between 1900 and 1916, the Marine Corps continued its record of participation in foreign expeditions, especially in the Caribbean and Central and South America, which included Panama, Cuba, Veracruz, Haiti, Santo Domingo, and Nicaragua.

Amazing purchase, so happy with it
Color: 3. Weathered Grey, Color: 3. Weathered Grey
Amazing purchase, it’s so beautiful, I love it so much! Been working from home, and had to turn my kitchen table into a table/work desk hybrid. I was sick of all the clutter on it, so I got this shelf and it worked like a charm. It’s so pretty, great quality, and the PERFECT SIZE. I bolted it into the wall right above my table and it’s really sturdy. The materials and design are beautiful and very high quality (especially for the reasonable price- I could see home stores charging $100 for this, easy). My only complaint is that they didn’t drill pilot holes in the wood planks, so screwing in the metal side pieces was a little annoying... I don’t think it would be possible without at least an electric screwdriver (or drill). Other than that, installing it was fine and now I love it so much. I’m tempted to get more for the other rooms in my apartment- it’s really the perfect shelf. It’s super multi-functional for organization/storage and decor + very affordable for the superior quality and appearance.

Easy way to have homemade looking storage/display!
Color: 1. Carbonized Black, Color: 1. Carbonized Black
I wanted something that didn't look cookie cutter, like I bought it at Home Depot. This is very high quality and the perfect size for any small spot that you want to highlight. The quality is excellent. It has a real rustic vibe. I couldn’t wait to find it the perfect “home” in my apartment. It's sturdy enough to hold a bunch of big books without bowing and can just be wiped down. It was really easy to put up without much trouble. This shelf looks great! UPDATE: PICTURE OF FINISHED PROJECT! Adorable!

Great for plants
Color: 1. Carbonized Black, Color: 1. Carbonized Black
I gave this a 4 on easy to install and sturdiness because I wasn’t able to actually drill it into the wall because of the way my apartment wall is, not this product, so I cannot speak much on those 2 fields. However, this has found a lovely home on top of my bedroom’s radiator and it works great for my plants! It stands up straight on it’s own and I only need to place it on the radiator and do not need to tie/drill it to something else to keep it standing up. Would recommend for someone looking for a cute shelf on a counter top as well.

Light, sturdy when assembled, and just a simple elegant piece.
I have a guest bath that I have remodeled, and I wanted something understated and still elegant enough to go with my very pretty bathroom. I opted to not have a medicine cabinet put in when the house was built and have only used the under-sink cabinet for my needs. The bathroom has all new off-white paint, new oval mirror which is tiltable, new lights, new really beautiful larger cabinet, and it's all in brushed nickel. I did purchase 2 of these units and so far, have only received the "all" black. The other is black metal with white shelves. I am not sure which one I will be putting in the bathroom as yet until I see the white one that should be here any day now. Looking forward to it. It's exactly the right size, metal is very light but nice, the wood shelves are nice but there are no pre-drilled holes so you will have to figure that out and looks very easy to hang with the 4 holes in the metal parts. I believe it's a great buy for us! I will be using it for face cloths, extra hand towels, a candle or 2, a small tray for jewelry, and a picture and plant. Good to go!!
