Senecio serpens ‘Blue Chalksticks’, recently changed to Senecio mandraliscae, is a striking succulent known for its upright, bluish-gray stems that resemble chalk sticks, giving it a unique appearance. This drought-tolerant plant is low-maintenance and thrives in sunny spots, making it an excellent choice for both indoor and outdoor gardens.

  • Size: Grows up to 12–18 inches (30–45 cm) tall and 12–18 inches (30–45 cm) wide.
  • Hardiness: USDA zones 9–11. Can tolerate temperatures as low as 25°F (-4°C) for short periods, but it should be protected from frost.
  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light to full sun. The more sunlight it receives, the bluer the leaves will become. Indoors, place near a south- or west-facing window for best growth.
  • Soil: Requires well-draining soil. A cactus or succulent mix works well, but you can improve drainage by adding perlite or sand.
  • Watering: Use the "soak and dry" method—let the soil dry out completely between waterings. Water about once every 1–2 weeks during the growing season and reduce watering during winter dormancy.
  • Temperature: Thrives in 65–75°F (18–24°C). Protect from frost and cold drafts, as it’s sensitive to freezing temperatures.
  • Repotting: Repot every 2–3 years if the plant becomes rootbound or outgrows its pot. Use a container with good drainage to prevent waterlogging.
  • Indoor Care: Place in a location with plenty of bright light. If grown indoors, ensure proper ventilation and avoid humidity buildup, which can lead to rot.
  • Outdoor Care: In warmer climates, plant in full sun for the best color and growth. In hot areas, provide some afternoon shade to protect from intense heat.
  • Maintenance: Remove any dead or damaged stems to encourage new growth and maintain a tidy appearance. Senecio ‘Blue Chalksticks’ can be propagated by taking stem cuttings.
  • Fertilizing: Fertilize during the growing season (spring and summer) with a diluted cactus or succulent fertilizer. Feed sparingly, as too much fertilizer can cause leggy growth.

Puppy loves it!!!!
Flavor Name: REAL Maplewood, Size: Puppy Small
This is by far the best chew bone that I’ve bought my puppy. And I’ve bought many! Just got it yesterday, she loves it! All ready ordered another one for car rides. I have a frenchie puppy. This will be the only one I get while she’s a puppy.

These are quite large for a puppy
Flavor Name: REAL Bacon/REAL Maplewood, Size: Puppy Tiny (2-Pack)
These are advertised as puppy but I wish there were still different sizes for the different sizes of puppies. It seems extra small dogs are left out of alot of things. My older larger dog seems to like these but shes only touched it once because these are also quite hard. And my tiny puppy wants to chew these but theyre so big she cant even get ahold of it. I wish there were more options for very small dogs/puppies. Because they seemed to really like these and wanted them but just cant chew them...

Finally a toy that isn’t destroyed in 7 minutes
This really is virtually indestructible! My dog is an aggressive tour and she has given this thing the business more often than not, and it does not even have a hole in it! My dog enjoys it immensely! It’s easy to take places. I love that it’s bright yellow and easy to see so I don’t trip over it! Definitely suitable for aggressive chewers!

Great choice for heavy chewers
Perfect for dogs that chew hard! Ours shred comparable toys at every turn, but this has held up beautifully. We’ve had it for a few months and it’s got minor wear and tear, but it is easy for them to play with, hardy, and worth every penny.

Durable, Fun, soft enough to not break teeth
Finally found a quality toy that our 75lb Black Mouth Cur hasn't destroyed in 5 minutes! In fact it's been a few months now. There are teeth marks, but she hasn't been able to take a chunk out of it yet. It even has some bounce to it when you toss it. And she finds it fun. Veterinary dentists recommend toys that are soft enough that you can leave a fingernail print in for toys that are less likely to break teeth, unlike bones and antlers. This is that toy! (My other dog broke both of her upper 3 rooted premolars on a Nylabone - healthy roots but the slab fracture exposed the pulp and had to be removed. Healthy roots are more difficult to remove. Dentists say those and antlers are money makers. 😭)
